So, you’ve got tickets to see the hottest band in town at the legendary Roundhouse in Camden. But where to eat before the gig?

The chances are that your show starts around 7pm, so you’ll need a quick meal in Camden — something tasty, casual, and no booking hassle for you and your mates. The last thing you want is missing the opening song because you’re stressed, scrolling Google Maps, desperate for a spot that can take a group of 6.

You’re in luck, we’ve been serving our roasted Cantonese BBQ meats in Camden since 2020 at Hawley Wharf Foodhall (level 2 — you can’t miss us 😉). We know a thing or two about eating in these parts. The good news is Camden is packed with amazing food at every turn, so you definitely won’t go hungry.

Below, our expert Camden team has pulled together a list of the 10 best spots near the Roundhouse for a pre-show meal that won’t let you down.

The Best Pre-Gig Restaurants Near Camden’s Roundhouse

Three Uncles, Camden Market
Three Uncles, Camden Market

1. Three Uncles Camden – Cantonese Roasts (Fast & Authentic)

Three Uncles Camden is one of the quickest and most delicious places to fuel up before a Roundhouse gig. Even after five years of eating here daily, we still can’t get enough. (If you don't believe us, we've even been voted one Camden's best restaurants)

Why eat here? Roast duck, char siu pork, all the Cantonese BBQ classics, are roasted throughout the day and then chopped fresh to order. Just place your order and two minutes later, your plate’s loaded with glistening roast meats over rice (or noodles if you prefer).

The food hall at Hawley Wharf is a 2-minute walk from Camden’s Roundhouse and has communal tables, heaters for winter, and plenty of space for big groups. And yes, we’ve got beer — our own Three Uncles Session IPA and lager to loosen you up before the dance floor. Best part? No booking needed, and the meals are affordable (£15 per head).

2. Honest Burgers Camden

Honest Burgers have been slinging cheeseburgers and fries for years. They may have plenty of locations now, but the quality and taste of their burgers have stayed the same.

Why eat here: The Tribute cheeseburger and fries. A classic we’ve eaten many times – it delivers the perfect fluffy brioche bun, with a medium rare patty. A classic done well and only a one minute walk from the Roundhouse. Just note the restaurant is small but service is quick.

3. Andy’s Greek Camden

Andy’s is a casual family-run Greek restaurant that’s been in Camden for decades. It’s a little further from the Roundhouse (10 minutes walk max), but if you want a sit down meal it’s worth the extra steps.

Why eat here: Unpretentious, delicious Greek food at an affordable price. Plenty of long tables for big groups, classic mezze and grilled fish and seafood. It does get busy so better to book in advance than risk it.

4. Pizza Pilgrims Camden

A reliable pizzeria is harder to find than you think, but Pizza Pilgrims has been hitting the spot with their Neapolitan sourdough bases. This branch, on Camden Parkway is about 10 mins walk from the Roundhouse, and usually has walk-in tables available.

Why eat here: Casual, quick, and the staff are fantastic. We can’t get enough of the nduja (it’s properly spicy!) and the pepperoni with hot honey.

5. Namaaste Kitchen

A sit down dinner restaurant on Parkway but still close enough. The Indian food here is delicious and full of flavour. It is a sit down restaurant, but it still feels casual and relaxed.

Why eat here: The pani puri and aloo papri chaat are reason enough. Also the Goan seabass and butter chicken are must tries.

6. Tapping the Admiral

Sometimes you can’t beat a pub before the gig, and Tapping the Admiral is perfect for that. Technically, it probably falls in Kentish Town and can be found tucked away on a quiet street, but worth the effort to find it.

Why eat here: A very chilled, local atmosphere, proper beers and ales, board games, and a fantastic choice of homemade pies.

7. Pinoy’s Indonesian

A super quick street food stall just inside the market, minutes from the Roundhouse. Pinoy’s delivers bold Indonesian flavours fast.

Why eat here: no fuss, spicy and tasty. The Nasi Padang with beef rendang is a winner. No need to book, just grab it in a box and go.
